Qualifications
  • Postgraduate degree with a minimum of 55% marks in a relevant Social Science discipline, preferably Modern History, Political Science, Anthropology, or allied disciplines, from a recognised University/Institution.

  • Proficiency in Odia and English, with the ability to conduct field surveys, interviews and documentation, is desirable.

  • Candidates should be willing to undertake field visits in different parts of Odisha for collection of oral histories and related information.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Archival & Historical Retrieval: Conduct systematic searches through government records, military archives, vernacular newspapers, personal memoirs, and primary sources documenting Odia participants in the Indian National Army (INA) and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s freedom movement.

  2. Fieldwork & Oral History Documentation: Travel to different regions of Odisha to locate and interview families, descendants, and local historians, capturing oral testimonies, letters, photographs, and personal memorabilia related to INA veterans.

  3. Data Organization & Transcription: Process, transcribe, and translate collected oral narratives and historical documents (from Odia/regional dialects to research standards) to create a verified digital repository.

  4. Project Reporting & Support: Assist the Project Coordinator and Research Team in synthesizing findings, maintaining field journals, and preparing documentation for upcoming publications and exhibitions.
