Qualifications
  • Postgraduate degree in Anthropology, Botany, Food and Nutrition, Public Health, Sociology, Rural Development, Tribal Studies, Environmental Studies or allied disciplines, with a minimum of 55% marks from a recognised University/Institution.

  • Interest in and/or prior experience in research on tribal and Indigenous communities, food systems, ethnobotany, nutrition, livelihoods or related areas will be preferred.

  • Proficiency in Odia and English, with good communication, documentation and data management skills.

  • Willingness to undertake extensive field visits in the project districts (Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Angul and Sambalpur) for survey work, interviews, field documentation and related activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Literature Review & Desk Research: Conduct comprehensive reviews of existing literature, historical documents, archives, and relevant research papers relating to tribal and indigenous food systems, ethnobotany, nutrition, and community wellbeing.

  2. Fieldwork & Data Collection: Undertake extensive field visits in the project districts (Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Angul, and Sambalpur) to conduct surveys, interviews, and field documentation.

  3. Drafting & Documentation: Assist the Project Coordinator/Director in writing research reports, working papers, policy briefs, and academic publications.

  4. Academic & Project Support: Help organize academic seminars, workshops, and focus group discussions, and maintain project documentation and progress reports.
