Qualifications

Master’s degree in English, Odia, Translation Studies, Linguistics, Journalism and Mass Communication, or a related discipline in the Humanities or Social Sciences.

Experience in translating knowledge texts, scholarly works, historical writings or other nonfiction material.

Experience in copy-editing, proofreading, reference verification and preparation of manuscripts for publication.

Familiarity with Odisha’s history, society, culture and intellectual traditions.
Key Responsibilities:

Translation of Scholarly Texts: Translate diverse knowledge texts, historical writings, academic papers, and nonfiction material from Odia to English with high linguistic accuracy and contextual fidelity.

Editing & Proofreading: Copy-edit, proofread, and refine translated manuscripts to ensure they meet high academic standards suitable for scholarly publication.

Reference & Fact Verification: Conduct rigorous reference verification, check citations, and validate historical, cultural, and terminological facts against primary and secondary sources.

Manuscript Preparation: Assist in preparing final manuscripts, research reports, and working papers for publication under the guidance of the project coordinator or editorial team.

Cultural & Historical Contextualization: Apply deep familiarity with Odisha's history, society, culture, and intellectual traditions to ensure nuanced and culturally sensitive translations.
